ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Sep, 2018 ) :Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Tuesday said the government had not yet received any application from Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz for their release from the jail on parole.
Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were convicted by a court in cases instituted by the National Accountability Bureau and the relevant laws and rules would be applied on their request for release on parole, he said talking to a private news channel.
The minister said prior to the year 2008, prisoners were released on parole for three days, but after the amendment in the relevant law, the duration for release of parole had been reduced to 12 hours.
The law, he said, was equal for all the citizens and the Interior Ministry would process the application of Nawaz Sharif and his daughter for parole, if received, as per law.
To a query, he said Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz would be arrested as per court order on their arrival in Pakistan, if they did not get bail before arrest.
The minister said the Punjab government would extend cooperation to the Sharif family according to the law. Prime Minister Imran Khan, he added, had directed the Pakistan's High Commission in the United Kingdom to provide all assistance to the bereaved family.
