No leave for govt employees on June 3

Over 60 employees of the Interior Ministry have applied for leave on June 3.

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st June, 2019) The Federal government has announced four holidays from June 4 till June 7 for Eid-ul-Fitr.

It is notified for general information that June 4 to June 7 (Tuesday to Friday) shall be public holidays on the occasion of religious festival of Eid-ul-Fitr, the notification read.

As weekends are already off at government offices, the government employees will already have six holidays.

However, with one more leave, they could extend their holidays to nine days. Monday will be the only working day between this weekend and the Eid holidays so if government employees take a leave on Monday, they can enjoy a long break of nine days.

The government and some private sector employees are already planning for this long Eid break. Most of the people will be going to their native towns while some families will spend the holidays in northern areas.

However, the Interior Ministry has directed the government employees to ensure their attendance on June 3.

The Interior Ministry in its statement said that a large number of government employees has applied for a leave on June 3, Monday.

The ministry added that one-day leave would affect the official work.

A strict action will be taken against the employees absent on June 3.

Media reports said that over 60 employees of the Interior Ministry have applied for leave on June 3.

Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has announced Eid-ul-Fitr on June 5.

Meanwhile, a meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee would be held in Karachi on Tuesday, June 4, for sighting the crescent of Shawwal-ul-Mukarram 1440 AH.

As the fasting period of Ramzan is coming to an end, shopping malls and traditional markets are bustling with Eid shoppers from all walks of life and people both from urban and rural areas of the country have thronged the city markets to buy clothes, shoes, bangles, henna, cosmetics and other items for the Eid.
