'No Load-shedding For Industry During Ramazan'

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2019 ) :On the demand of Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced that there would be no load-shedding for industrial sector during the holy month of Ramadan.
The announcement was made by LESCO Chief Executive Officer Mujahid Pervaiz Chattha in a meeting with former LCCI president Farooq Iftikhar, who was representing LCCI President Almas Hyder, according to LCCI spokesman here Sunday.
Farooq Iftikhar appreciated the LESCO chief for accepting Lahore Chamber's demand in the larger interests of trade and industry, asserting that the decision would go a long way as industrial sector was the ray of hope for economic stability of the country and this sector needed all kinds of support from the government including uninterrupted electricity supply so that it could bring more foreign exchange to the country, besides providing jobs to the people.
He said uninterrupted supply of electricity to the industries during the Holy Month of Ramadan was not only a big relief to the industry but also to daily wagers. It would also ensure industrial operation for 24 hours, and continuous industrial operation would generate employment for maximum number of labourers.
