ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2019 ) :Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States Asad Majeed Khan has said that there is no presence of any terrorist group in Pakistan.
In an interview in this week's episode of "The Hunt", Asad Majeed Khan said,"We have a lot to show for in terms of what we have achieved against terrorist groups of all kinds in the country." He said the tribal areas along the Pakistan-Afghan border had been cleansed. "I can say this with responsibility that there is absolutely no organized presence of any terrorist group in Pakistan.
" He said all the Pakistani leadership, including Prime Minister Imran Khan, were determined that the country's territory would not be used against any other state.
As regards the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas, the ambassador said they had been merged into Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and now all the laws of that province were applicable there.
Asad Majeed Khan said some 20,000 intelligence based operations had been carried out across Pakistan. "Last year we had the lowest number of terrorist events in 12 years and we hope to see this improving in 2019."
