Nomad Holds Insightful Talk, Exhibition

An insightful talk by renowned writer, scholar and political activist, Raza Naeem, followed by an exhibition of drawings and paintings by artists, Fizza Siddiqui and Ayesha Hasan opened here Wednesday at Nomad Art Gallery.
The talk gave a corrective historical account and retrospective of the revolution in Yemen, highlighting the various aspects of the subject to gain a clear understanding of actual facts and lessons learned, whereas, the exhibition titled, 'chronicles of childhood, displacement and transition', showcased a powerful display of drawings and paintings.
Raza, is an Arabic-speaking Pakistani writer, translator and activist currently based in Lahore, where he is also the President of the Progressive Writers Association (Anjuman Taraqqi Pasand Musanifeen).
He has been trained in Political Economy from the University of Leeds in the UK and in middle Eastern History and Anthropology from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, USA.
Raza has travelled in and reported from Egypt, Yemen and Turkey over the years, and is presently working on a book about the pioneers of Islamic socialism in the Indian subcontinent, tentatively titled Inquilab Zindabad".
The artist, Fizza Siddiqui is a 3D and graphics designer, print maker and art instructor with over four years of related work experience, as well as a portfolio of varied accomplishments including numerous exhibitions, showroom submissions, and classroom artwork. She possesses a strong sense of artistry and exceptional thinking that is consistently displayed across all art projects.
The other artist of the exhibition, Ayesha Hasan is a Lahore based artist, graduated from the University of the Punjab in Graphic Design, her biggest passion is Art and Typo based designs.
According to her, "My other areas of interest are; Stationery Designs, Magazine Title Cover, Brochures, Magazine Ads, Print Campaigns etc, with creativity and functionality being the main element, I find that if you keep these terms in mind while designing, everything else falls into place", Ayesha added.
