Nomination papers of Haroon's widow submitted for PK-78

Daniyal Bilour, the son of ANP's martyr leader Haroon Bilour Wednesday submitted nomination papers of his mother for by-poll in PK-78.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Aug, 2018 ) :Daniyal Bilour, the son of ANP's martyr leader Haroon Bilour Wednesday submitted nomination papers of his mother for by-poll in PK-78.

Under Islamic law the widow of Haroon was observing "Iddat period" of four months and 10 days after assassination of her husband. Daniya told media on the occasion that all opposition parties had assured full support to ANP and would not contest by-elections from the constituency.

He, however said that PTI has yet not contact him or party leadership in this regard, adding that ANP was ready to contest election against any candidate without fearing any cowardly terrorist attack.

He said he would run election campaign on behalf of his mother. It is to mention here that Haroon Bilour was killed in a terrorist suicide attack on his coroner meeting here in Yaka Toot area on July 11, 2018 and Election Commission cancelled election in this constituency.

The intending candidates can submit their papers till August 30, while the list of candidates would be displayed on August 31.

Similarly, the scrutiny of candidates would be held on September 4, while the appeals against the decisions of Returning Officers would be filed till September 8.

Appellate Tribunal would decide against the appeals till September 13 and revised list of candidates would be displayed on September 14.

The candidates could withdraw their nomination papers till September 15, while election symbols would be allotted on September 16 and election to be held on October 14.

It is to mention here that by-poll in one NA, nine PK Constituencies would be held as these became vacant due to death of contesting candidates, resignation under Article 223 and postponement under Articles 218(3) of the Constitution.

The constituencies included NA-35 Bannu, PK-3 Swat-II, PK-7Swat-IV, PK-44, Swabi-II, PK-53 Mardan-VI, PK-61 Nowshera-I, PK-64 Nowshera-IV,PK78 Peshawar-XIII, PK-97 DIKhan-III and PK-99 DIKhan-V.
