Normalcy Returns To River Chenab: Federal Flood Commission (FFC)

The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said that normalcy returned to River Chenab while River Kabul continues to flow in low flood in Warsak-Nowshera Reach.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Aug, 2018 ) :The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said that normalcy returned to River Chenab while River Kabul continues to flow in low flood in Warsak-Nowshera Reach.
According to daily FFC report on Thursday, all other main rivers including Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej are flowing normal.
The current actual main river flows and reservoir elevations indicates that Tarbela and Mangla at levels of 1529.23 feet and 1158.40 feet respectively. Tarbela, Chashma and Mangla reservoir's present combined live storage is 7.088 MAF (51.81 % of the total storage capacity i.e. 13.681 MAF).
Following the gradually increasing inflows at Tarbela, IRSA is ensuring rationalized filling to augment present live storage to a further state of consolidation.
Yesterday's well marked monsoon low over Northern Orissa (India) has weakened and converted into Low. It lies over Eastern Madhya Pradesh (India) as reported by FFD, Lahore.
Its further movement and intensity with regard to impact over Pakistan is being closely watched by PMD/ FFD, Lahore.
Marked seasonal low still persists over Northwestern Balochistan, whereas yesterday's trough of Westerly Wave continues to prevail over Kashmir and adjoining areas.
Moderate moist currents from Bay of Bengal are penetrating into upper parts of the country upto 5000 feet.
Under the influence of prevailing weather system, scattered thunderstorm/rain with moderate falls is expected over the upper catchments of all main Rivers (Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej) including Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur & D.G. Khan Divisions), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Peshawar, D.I. Khan, Hazara, Malakand, Kohat & Bannu Divisions), Southern Sindh, Eastern Balochistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
Scattered thunderstorm rain with heavy falls at isolated places and very heavy falls at one or two places are expected over the upper catchments of Rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi & Sutlej including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala & Lahore Divisions of Punjab and Kashmir from August 11.
The flood flows in River Chenab and local nullahs (tributaries of Rivers Ravi & Chenab) are likely toincrease from August 12.
