One Cup Of Tea To Indian Pilot Cost MiG-21, Post Goes Viral

In a video released after his detention, the Indian Air Force pilot had complimented the tea, saying, “The tea is fantastic, thank you.”

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st March, 2019) Pakistan’s tea has got global recognition after Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman liked the tea given him by Pakistani soldiers during detention.

In a video released after his detention, the Indian Air Force pilot had complimented the tea, saying, “The tea is fantastic, thank you.”

The statement of the Indian pilot had gone viral as Pakistanis are very proud of their tea.

However, this tea was not cheap. It had cost India its MiG-21 that was shot down by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

Abhinandan was flying an MiG 21 Bison jet on Wednesday that was shot down by PAF with the pilot taken into custody. It was only after the incident that Abhinandan was taken into Pakistan’s custody and had the chance to have our tea.

A post regarding the ‘high cost’ of tea has gone viral on social media as it has become the most expensive cup of tea in history.

In the video, Abhinandan had expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Army for their good conduct and hospitality shown to him.

“I would like to put this on record and I will not change my statement if I go back to my country. The officers of Pakistan Army have looked after me very well. They are thorough gentlemen, starting from the captain who rescued me from the mob and from these jawans, the soldiers. And thereafter the officers of the unit which I was taken to,” Abhinandan said, adding that this is what I expect my army to behave and I am very impressed by the Pakistan Army.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced to release detained Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman on Thursday.

He will handed over to India via Wagah Border today.
