ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2018 ) :With rising heat and fasting , Online food delivery orders through mobile phones and internet has become very popular in Pakistan during the holy month of Ramadan all across the country as leaving the house to buy food from shops becomes even harder for faithfuls.
A report aired by a private news channel said, In the run-up to Ramadan ,many home delievery food services are trying their level best to grab those last minutes best deals on discounted rates. The trend of online food delivery orders has changed the mindset of customers. Different food chains are trying to push their services through social media sites .
Most fast food chains attempt to attract customers during Ramadan by offering special meals that include dates and with affordable prices as they remain closed during the day and open only in the evening.
Online food ordering in Pakistan is much easier now, you can choose from the list of restaurants available and make your food order online using the following websites and apps, said Rashid Suleman a citizen.
Samina Fasial a student of MBA said, ordering food for 'iftar' [the breaking of the fast] is an attractive option after a day of fasting as Fast food consumption has increased radically.
This dramatic shift towards fast food consumption is primarily because people prefer convenience and good taste, she added.
Online-food ordering services have reported a surge in orders as Muslims observe the holy month of Ramadan, said a shopkeeper.
An owner of Fast food restaurant ALi Hashim said "The food order with discount rates are more convenient , reliable, hassle free and cheaper comparatively as it gives them a wide range of expediency and options to choose from.
"We offer the best deals on our Facebook page and other social media sites.
Viewers can visit all the pages and grab thebest deals. Online orders are gaining momentum and why not customer loves it because they can experience more of the menu," he said.
"There are way more customers during normal days (the rest of the year) than during Ramadan," he added.
Online fats food sales during Ramadan have experienced steady growth year after year, an owner of food corner shop Nadeem Basit said.
"My kids and I love online food service during Ramadan as Food on Click providing best opportunity to get food on our door steps" said a working mother Ayesha Umer.
She noted that there's a strong growth for consumer service in the past few years.
"Saving time is very important to consumers," a Young boy Yasir Waqas working for online service said, adding that 90 percent of his customers are students and working citizens.
Speaking of the advantages, He said that the service has many benefits such as overcoming the language barrier in telephone communications where there may be errors in taking small details.
Amna Sheikh added that online orders can be customized with minimal errors, cutting down the number of restaurant operators for taking orders and putting an end to busy phone lines with customers on hold.
"Human error is common and frequent while placing an order over the phone, the customer is not really sure of what is being added to the computer data. But when food is ordered online, the customer can ensure the accuracy of his order and rest that he will get what he ordered," Khurram Imran pointed out.
It is the best use of information technology that our youth is stepping forward with such creative ideas and not only strengthening them but also creating employment opportunities, Aslam Irshad a 45 year old citizen said.
