Open Forum Held To Eliminate Misconception About Polio Drops

DIR LOWER, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jan, 2020 ) :To eliminate misconception regarding polio drops from people's minds, the district administration Dir Lower in collaboration with the Health Department arranged an open forum wherein Deputy Commissioner Saadat Hassan participated as Cheif Guest.

Other prominent participants were, District Health Officer, Dr. Shaukat Ali, Deputy District Health Officer, Dr. Irshad Roghani, representative of Pakistan Army, Major Zahid Anwar, EPI Coordinator Dr. Mehboob, Children Specialist Dr. Mokhtiyar, Muhammad Shayer Tajak, President APCA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Saleem, General Secretary, APCA, Haji Khurshid, President, Paramedics Association Dir Lower, Maulana Nabi Shah, Anwar-ud-Din, President Bazar Trade Union, Ibrash Pasha and representatives of Civil Society Dir Lower. Field workers of polio, media persons, religious scholars and general public also participated in the forum.

EPI Coordinator Dr. Mehboob delivered a detailed lecture on causes, symptoms, types, effects, diagnosis, treatment, of Polio disease.

The Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower on the occasion stated that eradication of polio was our religious, moral and national duty and every Pakistani must play a role for the eradication of this crippling disease.

He directed the DHO to arrange Ulema convention regarding polio to create awareness among people against the disease.

During the session, a polio affected person, Khurshid Alam also delivered speech and requested the parents to administer anti-polio drops to their children to save them from crippling diseases.

On the directives of Deputy Commissioner the session went on-air, live through Facebook page of Deputy Commissioner.

At the end, question, answers sessions was also held in which DHO, DDHO, EPI Coordinator and Children Specialist gave detailed answers to the questioners.

Abdullah Madani, representative of District Press Club Dir Lower also shared his suggestions, views for the successful campaign of Polio.
