Opposition’s Protest Rally In Lahore Failed Adversely: Maryam Nawaz

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and daughter of Nawaz Shari, the former prime minister, Maryam Nawaz has said that protest rally of the opposition parties held in Lahore’s Mall Road calling for justice over the Model Town incident has failed adversely.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jan, 2018) : Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and daughter of Nawaz Shari, the former prime minister, Maryam Nawaz has said that protest rally of the opposition parties held in Lahore’s Mall Road calling for justice over the Model Town incident has failed adversely. Maryam Nawaz in serious of tweets on Wednesday said, the protesting opposition parties were not even able to fill up the ’empty seats’ and he people have rejected such political antics. She said, “These empty chairs are proof that the people endorse the viewpoint of Nawaz Sharif, that conspirators should wait till 2018 and beyond.” The PML-N leader further said that the people have rejected such antics carried out since the last four years, and this will be evident after the next general elections. “The day of reckoning for the antics of these political puppets since last four years is near,” she said.
“In 2018 elections they will be fuel for the people’s fury.” She further said ’empty chairs’ present there is clear message to these conspiracies. She added those who went to seek resignations have resigned themselves. “Those demanding resignations have themselves resigned,” she stated. Several political parties had gathered in the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) led protest in Lahore calling for justice in the Model Town incident.
It was expected to demand the resignation of Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah. However, the political gathering saw Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid announce his resignation from parliament, while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said that he would ponder over the decision as well.
