Over 3,000 Indian Sikh Yatrees Arrive In City

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Nov, 2018 ) :Over 3,000 Sikh Yatrees arrived here on Wednesday by special trains via Wagha Railway Station to observe the celebrations of 549th Janumdin of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Jee.
Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Tahir Ehsan, Secretary Board Muhammad Tariq Wazir, Pardhan Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) Sardar Tara Singh and other Pakistani Sikh leaders and officers received the yatrees.
Talking to the media at Wagha Railway Station, ETPB Chairman Tahir Ehsan said the board had made foolproof security arrangements for Sikh yatrees besides providing facilities of immigration, customs, bank and medical at the Wahga Railway Station to facilitate the pilgrims.
He said, "Today is the auspicious occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) and we need to promote brotherhood and tolerance in the light of Islamic teachings".
He said that relations between Sikh and Muslim were cementing by the passage of time.
The ETPB Chairman said the constitution of the country gave equal rights to minorities.
Speaking on the occasion, party leader Sardar Amarjeet Singh greeted Muslims on the special occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi (SAWW).
He said that Kirtarpur Border should be opened for Sikh yateers on 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak and added that the opening of border would be a gift for sikh community by the governments of both sides. He said that over 10,000 sikh yatrees would visit Pakistan on the occasion.
The sikh yatrees will leave for Nankana Sahib by special trains where they will stay for three days and perform their rituals. The yatrees will visit Gurdwara Sucha Suda Farooqabad on November 22 and perform their rituals and will go back to Nankana Sahib on the same day.
The central ceremony in this regard will be held at Janum Asthan Nankana Sahib on November 23, in which different religious, political and minority leaders will participate.
Afterward, the yatrees will leave to Gurdwara Punja Sahib on November 24, where they stay for two days and perform their rituals. They will visit Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore on November 26.
Later, the yatrees will visit Gurdwara Rohri Sahib Emonabad and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kirtarpur on November 28.
The Sikh yatrees will return to their homeland onNovember 30.
