ISLAMABAD, Jan 4 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Jan, 2017 ) : A sub-committee of Public Accounts Committee on Wednesday reviewed pending audit objections (2010-11) of ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD).
In its meeting held under Chairmanship of its Convener Shahid Akhter Ali, the sub-committee was told that Rs 990 million was mentioned in PC-1 of Faisal Avenue flyover project by CDA in 2010-11 while Rs 1.67 billion had been spent on it.
Audit officials informed the committee that accounts of this project had not been closed so far while this project also faced delay of 30 months. The sub-committee was told that contractor of this project did not have necessary construction material when this project was inspected on the scene.
Member of the committee MNA Mian Abdul Manan asked the reason behind awarding contract to such a contractor who did not have necessary construction equipment. Dr. Arif Alvi also questioned about pre-qualification of such company and demanded to initiate action against those involved behind awarding the contract.
The sub-committee said it did not believe on departmental committees by CADD or CDA investigating into this issue because some CDA officials own construction companies. The sub-committee refused to accept any inquiry committee which did not include audit representatives.
The committee asked the CDA chairman to initiate inquiry against those officials having such companies and submit report.
