Pak, ASEAN Need Joint Efforts For Global Economic Prosperity, Peace: Musadik

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Aug, 2024) Federal Minister for Petroleum, Masadik Masood Malik on Thursday said that Pakistan and ASEAN countries need to work on the avenues of mutual cooperation by making joint efforts for global economic prosperity and peace.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries are an inspiration for Pakistan and both sides have long standing relations for which both have to expand the relations through joint action.

Federal Minister for Petroleum, Masadik Masood Malik said this while addressing as Chief guest to the ASEAN Day ceremony here.

He said that ASEAN and Pakistan need to go further to connect with innovation, technology and the global value chain.

The Minister said that Pakistan remains committed to collaboration with ASEAN in diverse fields.

He reiterated Pakistan’s abiding interest in forging close political, security, economic, and cultural partnerships with the ASEAN member states.

Masadik Malik said that Pakistan could play a vital role in promoting ASEAN's objective of regional peace and prosperity and in light of globalization's advancement, ASEAN is aiming to become an even more dynamic, powerful segment of the global supply chain in the future.

He said that Pakistan's strategic location at the crossroads of key regions presents a valuable opportunity for ASEAN to access the western regions of China, Central Asia, and the middle East.

Pakistan is naturally endowed with a pivotal role in promoting Asian connectivity.

He said that Pakistan is well-positioned to contribute to inter-regional connectivity.

The Minister said that Pakistan's abundant workforce and investment incentives make it an ideal location for ASEAN investors to establish manufacturing units for marketing products.
