Pakistan Day was observed here on Friday with traditional spirit and fervour.
JHANG, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2018 ) :Pakistan Day was observed here on Friday with traditional spirit and fervour. Colourful programmes were part of the celebrations while special prayers were offered for the solidarity of Pakistan.
The day started with prayers in different mosques and wreaths were laid on the graves of Shuhda-e-Tehrik-e-Pakistan. The main function to mark the day was held in the lawn of District Council building.
Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz Malik was the chief guest and the function was attended by Chairman District Council Nawab Babar Khan Sial, DPO Liaqat Ali Malik, ADC (G) Muhammad Asif Iqbal, Assistant Commissioners Shahid Abbas Joyea and Fazayel Mudassar, Vice Chairmen of district council, Chief officers of Municipalities, writers, members of NGOs, students lawyers, journalists and others.
The national flag was hoisted and national anthem was song by all the participants. A smartly turned out group of Rescue 1122 volunteers presented a salute to national flag. Students of different educational institutions presented national songs and skits.
Various political and social organizations celebrated the day by taking out rallies and holding seminars . A candle vigil was organized by a students' organization to mark the day.
