A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench on Tuesday allowed Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) body elected in 2015 election to function.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2018 ) :A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench on Tuesday allowed Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) body elected in 2015 election to function.
The bench also set aside a LHC single bench order which declared the 2015 election null and void and appointed former Justice Asad Muneer PFF administrator. The bench headed by Justice Ayesha A Malik passed the orders while allowing an Intra Court Appeal filed by the PFF against the LHC single bench verdict.
The bench had reserved the verdict after hearing arguments of the parties and it was announced on Tuesday. In February 2017, the bench heard the PFF appeal and gave its verdict but it was set aside by the Supreme Court, which referred the case back to the bench with the instructions to decide it on merit.
Faisal Saleh Hayat was elected president of the PFF in the elections held in Chagla Gali in 2015, which were originally stayed by the LHC but were recognised by the world's football governing body FIFA.
However, the result went into litigation after Arshad Khan Lodhi, former Punjab Football Association (PFA) president moved into litigation over the elections of the PFA and the PFF conducted by Faisal's group. A single bench comprising Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan had appointed retired justice Asad Munir administrator of the PFF and set aside the elections.
