Pakistan-India talks on Kartarpur Corridor underway

Talks between India and Pakistan began on Thursday to discuss and finalize the modalities for the Kartarpur Corridor.Dr Muhammad Faisal, DG South Asia, is leading the Pakistani side while Indian delegation is headed by Joint Secretary SCL Das from the Home Ministry

AMRITSAR (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th March, 2019) Talks between India and Pakistan began on Thursday to discuss and finalize the modalities for the Kartarpur Corridor.Dr Muhammad Faisal, DG South Asia, is leading the Pakistani side while Indian delegation is headed by Joint Secretary SCL Das from the Home Ministry.

Talking to media, prior to the departure at Wagah Border, Dr Faisal said Kartarpur initiative is not only beneficial to Sikh community but will also help bring peace between the two nations.He also stated that we are taking a positive message with this step for the talks.

This corridor plan includes a bridge over Ravi River and four and a half kilometer road as well.According to the reports, 50 percent construction work of bridge and road is completed and the plan is expected to be completed before the 550th anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak in November.
