KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 16th March, 2019) Pakistan that has fought world's longest and fiercest war against terrorism is committed to the cause of peace and tranquility in the world, said Minister of State for Interior, Shaheryar Khan Afridi here on Saturday.Addressing a press conference at National Stadium he said it was on basis of sheer will and absolute commitment of the people, national institutions and political leadership that peace has been restored in most troubled parts of the country.Reiterating that war is no solution to any problem he said all stakeholders in the country are on the same page and stand united against series of challenges faced by them.The State Minister for Interior said the excitement being felt across Karachi and the ensuing hustle and bustle is a cause of immense joy for all countrymen.Things and situations, he said is moving towards good across the country and per announcement of the Prime Minister, Imran all matches of PSL-5 will be played in Pakistan in 2020.To a query, he said credit for restoration of peace and improved law and orders situation goes equally to the Pakistan Army and other law enforcing agencies along with masses and their representatives who stood by the former.
He said PTI government stands by the promises it had made to the people and the eight PSL matches in Karachi is one of the several reflections of the same.
"Fool proof arrangements including provision for security during the game has been ensured at every level," he said expressing his confidence that final match of the tournament would be thoroughly enjoyed by the game lovers.Prior to the press conference, the state minister attended an extended briefing given to him by the law enforcers.
He also visited different parts of the National Stadium and attended the ceremony arranged to showcase the much cherished trophy.Sarfaraz Ahmad and Darren Sammy, the Captains of Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi respectively along with their team members and officials also responded to questions raised by the media personnel.
