Pakistan Railways, KP Govt To Launch Tourist Trains

Pakistan Railways and the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had decided to launch tourist trains to various tourist spots in the province
The matter was discussed in a meeting between Senior Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Atif Khan and Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed here Thursday.
During the meeting, they discusses the measures to promote tourism in the province and give approach to railway to the ancient remains of Gandhara civilization.
The two sides agreed to start Steam Safari Tourist Train between Attock Khurd and Peshawar without delay.
They also discussed as how to restore railway track between Peshawar -Takhtbhai and launch a toursit train shortly.
Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid said that Pakistan Railways will launch tourist trains with the help of KP government and private sector.
He said that Pakistan Railways currently has four steam engines which would be used for tourist trains.
It is pertinent to mention here that, Minister for Railways had announced to run three Safari Trains on different routes and Tourist Train will be started between Peshawar-Attock in February.
