Pakistan Railways To Hire 8,600 Staffers To Improve Efficiency

In order to improve the efficiency of Pakistan Railways, the railway ministry has decided to hire furthermore 8,600 workers in different cadres across the country.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Nov, 2018 ) :In order to improve the efficiency of Pakistan Railways, the railway ministry has decided to hire furthermore 8,600 workers in different cadres across the country.
"At least around 11,000 skilled workers are needed on an emergency basis to improve the performance of Railways. Railways had already hired around 2,000 workers," a Ministry of Railways official told APP.
The official said Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the summary for hiring 8,600 workers and the process to recruit the workers will be initiated shortly.
He said people seeking jobs in their native districts would be given preference over residents of other areas and all the appointments would be made purely on merit.
The candidates who had already applied for several post prior to this will also be eligible to apply in the newly advertised vacancies of Railways, the official added.
In order to provide job opportunities to give chance to youth, the official said Railways will end the contracts of all the retired employees working in the department within a year.
The official said a summary to regularize the services of workers, employed on a contract basis under the Prime Minister's Package, will shortly be sent for approval.
He said Federal government has already granted permission to the Ministry of Railways to fill the 2,031 vacant posts as a first installment.
The ministry is in process to fill 2,031 vacant technical posts of different categories ranging from BPS 1 to 11 on entire system of Pakistan Railways on regular basis.
