Pakistan Science Foundation Distributes Laptops Among 143 Students Under STFS

Almost 143 students across the country received laptop here on Thursday at Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) from the first badge of Science Talent Farming Scheme (STFS) on showing distinctions in their fields.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Muhammad Yusuf Shaikh speaking as chief guest on the occasion said nature tests nations through natural calamities like poverty, hunger, famine but the researchers and scientists turns these crises into blessings through their research work.
He said bright students are future of our nation and the ministry has started the initiative of distributing prices" href="https://www.darsaal.com/laptops/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">laptop on their outstanding performance opening ocean of knowledge without any hindrance to focus on their specific fields.
The minister said there is no concept of stagnancy in universe and it was special quality of Muslim scholars in past to remain indulge in fields of research and ponder on issue for finding out practical outcomes of challenges.
He pointing out to the students said, "you are the hope and future of the nation advising them to utilize their energies for development of the country.
Earlier, Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), Major (Retd) Qaiser Majeed Malik, presenting the welcome address highlighted Foundation's programmes.
He said the Government has launched "Science Talent Farming Scheme" which is being implemented through collaborative efforts of relevant organizations and stakeholders. He said PSF is playing a major role in this regard.
The Chairman said that the students passionate towards science education, who have passed their Matric / SSC / Equivalent examinations in science subjects from the government educational institutions with at least 60% marks in Matric/Equivalent with at least 70% marks in science subjects, are being selected through specialized tests, Computer Based IQ tests, presentations and interviews for admission to selected outstanding colleges.
These students are also being provided scholarships upto Rs.10,000 per month to cover fees and educational expenditures.
It is pertinent to mention that it was the third ceremony for distribution of laptop within this month.
Federal Secretary, S&T Yasmin Masood, heads of (S&T) organizations, STFS Project Director Dr. Ahsan Feroze and a large number of students fromacross the country attended the ceremony.
