ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Oct, 2016 ) : Hurriyet forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has thanked all the political parties and the Government of Pakistan for their continued support to the Kashmiris' struggle for securing their right of self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagarappreciated the role played by political leadership and people of Pakistan in highlighting the Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir and the Kashmir dispute at international forums.
"Pakistan has always been ready to work towards a lasting solution of the dispute in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris," he added. The spokesman said that large-scale harassment and persecution of people across occupied Kashmir continued unabated.
"Mass arrests, invoking of draconian law Public Safety Act (PSA) arbitrarily against youth, human rights activists, volunteers, party workers and anyone on fabricated grounds, destroying paddy fields and fruits, causing losses to fruit industry by blocking highway, ransacking homes, conducting nocturnal raids, destroying private property, shops, cars and showrooms, beating up inmates and threatening retribution for non- compliance by the ruling dispensation show the extent of moral bankruptcy it has reached," he said.
Condemning the arrest of the Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, the spokesman said, "The tactics of arresting resistance leaders and placing them under house arrest or behind the bars will not be able to cow down the resistance leaders or the people from pursuing their just struggle."
