Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is committed to ensure safety of its heritage for vibrant and peaceful projection of the country, said Mukhtar Ali an official of PTDC.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Sep, 2018 ) :Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) is committed to ensure safety of its heritage for vibrant and peaceful projection of the country, said Mukhtar Ali an official of PTDC.

PTDC has set vision to develop the tourism sector as national priority in a sustainable and acceptable manner while taking full advantage of regional and international trends, he added.

He said basically our aim is to preserve and protect our cultural and moral values projecting tourist friendly image of the country.

He said that PTDC is also working for the development of tourist infrastructure and services within the country and also focusing promotion of Domestic tourism.

Talking to APP, he said that Pakistan is famous for its amazing world heritage sites that are declared by United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

UNESCO is basically the organization that promotes different tentative sites for education, scientific and cultural purposes. The world tentative heritage sites of Pakistan includes, Badshahi Mosque, Wazir Khan Mosque, Tomb of Jehanigir , Hiran Minar, and Taxila, Rohtas Fort District Jhelum, and Shalimar Garden Lahore, Historical Monuments at Makli, Deosa National Park, Ziarat Juniper Forest, Salt Range and Khewra Salt Mine.

The department of Archaeology is the custodian of these sites ,however the department is under staffed and faces numerous other challenges in protecting the national heritage in addition to these problems, encroachments were also spoiling this heritage.

"Tourists from all over the world come to visit these World Heritage sites", he added.
