
Pakistan's Leadership Committed To Cement Pak-German

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Augst,2016) : Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Wednesday said Pakistan's political leadership is committed to cement Pak-German political engagement for strengthening democratic governance.
"Cordial relations with Germany are pivotal to Pakistan's outreach to Europe," he said during a meeting with Ambassador of Germany Ms. Ina Lepel. He stressed upon the need for substantial and concrete engagement on pressing issues prevalent in the region and beyond.
Admiring German's hospitality extended to Pakistan's Parliamentary delegation led by Sardar Ayaz Sadiq himself, he said there is an immense scope of furthering people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
He expressed satisfaction with the pace of political and economic cooperation between the two countries. Ayaz Sadiq underlined the need for expansion of economic relations through sustained engagement of chambers of commerce and other business forums.
He further said Pakistan is keen to benefit from Germany's scientific and educational expertise to ensure genuine human development in Pakistan. In a strong worded statement, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq condemned the latest wave of terrorist attacks in Europe and further added that Pakistan's public stands in solidarity with European citizens.
The Speaker said Pakistani political and military leadership has demonstrated an unflinching commitment to eliminate terrorism from its soil. Referring to cementing cooperation with Germany, the Speaker remarked that Parliamentary engagement between the two nations is the bedrock of robust relation between the two nations and further urged the need for regular exchange of Parliamentary delegations. The German Ambassador Ina Lepel endorsed Ayaz Sadiq's proposal for regular exchange of Parliamentary delegations and cementing people-to-people contacts.
She added that Germany consider Pakistan a partner in South Asia for furthering genuine human development. She suggested that Germany is keen to partner with Pakistan in achieving Sustainable Development Goals and appreciated the establishment of SDGs secretariat at National Assembly of Pakistan for fast-tracking progress on the stated objectives. Ina Lepel acknowledged Pakistan's sacrifices in global war on terror and added that Germany would continue to support Pakistan at the regional as well as international level in its endeavors for promoting peace, democracy and economic development.
