Palijo moves SHC for provision of gas to 70 villages

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Sep, 2018 ) :The Sindh High Court has put the Oil and Gas Regulation Authority (OGRA) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on notice in a petition praying for supply of natural gas to 70 villages in Hyderabad.

According to details, the petition was filed by advocate Ayaz Latif Palijo- who also heads Qaumi Awami Tehreek party- as a public interest litigation.

He maintained that the constitution called for providing gas on priority to the people of a province from where the natural resource was being produced. Palijo said Sindh's contribution in the national gas output stood around 72 percent.

The SHC directed the respondents to submit reply on October 18.
