Parliamentary Affairs Minister Urges Nation To Learn From Iqbal's Teachings

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan Saturday urged the nation to learn from the teachings of Allama Muhamamd Iqbal and rediscover his philosophy in true spirit.
He was addressing a conference here on 'Youth Assembled to Ignite Khudi' at Awain-e-Quaid in commemoration of the great poet and philosopher. The conference was organized to strengthen and inculcate the teachings and ideas of Iqbal in youth.
He said in today's circumstances, it was difficult to find out the Shaheen of Allama Iqbal.
The minister said youth should reconstruct Iqbal's philosophy based on the principles of islam, while keeping in view the current challenges faced by the Muslim world.
He said in light of Iqbal's message, the Pakistani society was in a dire need to bridge the gap between different schools of thought.
Acquisition of knowledge does not only aim at reading books or gathering factual knowledge rather it was based upon the character building of an individual which was the Primary objects of the Iqbal's philosophy.
Ali said Iqbal's philosophy was aimed at training and educating an individual socially and morally so that he could play an effective role in uplift of the society.
He said education of character was need of the hour. Moreover, his thought were the key to emerging global challenges.
The minister emphasized that people should deal with their social and ideological issues by taking guidance from Iqbal teachings.
He called for revisiting the curriculum and train the teacher in the light of Iqbal's vision to achieve fundamental objectives of education.
He said that while competing with the world, we should not forego our Islamic identity. He said that money and material world could never suffice the human needs without spirituality.
