PBM Establishes 157 Vocational Training Schools To Make Destitute Women Self Sufficient: Buppi

Pakistan Bait ul-Mal (PBM) has established 157 vocational training schools across the country to help making destitute women self sufficient and independent, said Managing Director, PBM Aon Abbas Buppi here on Thursday
Addressing the launching ceremony of 'Impact Analysis Report on Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Labs in Women Empowerment Centres (WECs), he said the country's prosperity and uplift was directly linked with women's participation in different spheres of life and inclusion of information and communication technologies were need of the hour, said a press release issue here.
He termed United Service Fund (USF) funded projects as the best example of Public Private Partnership.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) USF Rizwan Mustafa told that 120 WECs had been equipped with 2,400 modern computer labs, having capacity to train 10,000 students annually.
He pledged to establish more computer labs in the remaining WECs. The passed out students of various women empowerment centres (WECs), who are serving in different public and private sector organizations after getting training also shared their experiences. Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul lauded the productive use of IT tools by PBM. She also praised the hardworking women and girl trainees associated with WECs of PBM with the will to lead an honourable and independent life.
