PDWP KP Approves 15 Projects Worth Rs.14.866bn

PESHAWAR, Sept 20 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Sep, 2017 ) : The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) held its meeting under the chairmanship of Mr. Shahab Ali Shah, the Additional Chief Secretary/ Secretary P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by its members and respective administrative Secretaries. The forum considered 19 projects pertaining to different sectors including Road & Bridges, DWSS, Higher Education, Elementary & Secondary Education, Sports & Culture, Energy & Power, MSD and Local Government for the uplift of the province.
The forum approved 15 projects with an estimated cost of Rs.14866.262 million, while 4 were deferred due to inadequate designs. The meeting approved Project of the Road & Bridges, construction and improvement of Sigram Bypass Road, Swat (3.25 Km).
The only approved project of DWSS was the provision for rehabilitation of disaster affected water supply schemes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Similarly, the approved projects of the Higher education were �Govt.
Degree College Darora�,� Govt. Degree College Mandani Charsadda�, �Ayun Girls Degree College at Chitral PK-89�, � Stori the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa programme.
Furthermore, the approved projects of Elementary & Secondary Education were "Establishment of Girls Cadet College at Mardan", "GGHSS Jindi U/C Hisara Nehri PK-20, District Charsadda", "Establishment of 500 I.T.
Laboratories in Govt. High & Higher Secondary Schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa", "GHSS Harichand, Tehsil Tangi District Charsadda". The only approved project of sports sector was the feasibility and improvement/construction of Arbab Niaz cricket Stadium Peshawar while the projects of energy & power sector were the construction of 356 mini/micro hydro power stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (total capacity 35.6 MW) total cost 5524.83 million (HDF Funded) (HDF expenditure 700.960 mn) and electrification of un-electrified villages through solar/alternate energy in remaining Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Phase-II (HDF funded) (HDF Expenditure 85.140 mn) and solar electrification of 4000 Masajid in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (HDF Funded).
The approved projects of MSD sector were included the establishment of centralized GIS facilities and Public Policy and Social Protection Reforms Unit.
