PEF Starts Inclusive Education Project In Seven Districts

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th August, 2016) : The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has provided free quality education to 1,251 differently abled students in 194 partner schools in seven selected districts of the province.
This is a part of Punjab Inclusive Education Project which had been launched in collaboration with Provincial Special Education Department. This project is aimed to identify and help rehabilitate children with minor disabilities through free schooling facility. Managing Director PEF Tariq Mahmood said this while briefing Secretary Special Education Department Ms. Ambreen Raza at his office on Friday.
The meeting reviewed progress and expressed satisfaction that parents of special children were taking interest in education of their children.
The MD PEF said the project was launched in Lahore, Multan, Vehari, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal districts.
Training of 268 teachers of partner schools, attached with the project, has already been completed by the foundation. Ms Ambreen Raza hoped that the project would be much helpful in identification as well as arranging free education in PEF sponsored schools in different districts.
She said quality assisted devices would also be given to such students free by the Special Education Department.
