People Suffer As Opposition Parties Block Roads In KP

People suffered great hardships and remained stuck on roads as Mutahidda Majilis-e-Aamal (MMA) and other allied opposition parties blocked several key highways of the province in protest against alleged rigging in the general election.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Aug, 2018 ) :People suffered great hardships and remained stuck on roads as Mutahidda Majilis-e-Aamal (MMA) and other allied opposition parties blocked several key highways of the province in protest against alleged rigging in the general election.
Long queues of vehicles were seen when JUI-F workers blocked the Indus Highway at several points. Workers of MMA gathered outside the election commission offices in various cities and raised slogans against alleged rigging.
The protestors burnt tyres on Indus Highway in Karrak, Lakki Marwat, Kohat and D.
I.Khan. Due to closure of roads general people and patients, who were coming to the provincial metropolis remained stranded, while many of them had to abandon their journey.
Similarly workers of opposition parties blocked both sides of Grand Trunk Road for traffic. Many passengers including women and children took shelter under trees to avoid scorching heat.
Many ambulances were seen with wailing sirens seeking passage through the jammed roads but in vain.
Similarly, main roads connecting Malkand, Swabi, Mardan and Peshawar were also blocked by the protestors.
