Performance Evaluation Of Agri Department At End Of Fiscal Year

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2017 ) : Secretary Agriculture Muhammad Mahmood said on Wednesday that performance of employees of all the wings of agriculture department would be undertaken at the end of the fiscal year 2016-17 and top 10 per cent of the best performers will be rewarded.

And those 10 per cent touching the bottom of the performance evaluation list should be ready to face punishment, the secretary said while presiding over a progress review meeting of district and divisional heads of the department at Dera Ghazi Khan, says an official release.

He said cotton would deliver good price to farmers this year and ordered all deputy directors to achieve the sowing target by May 31. He said field staff of pest warning and crop reporting wings should also provide guidance to farmers on the field to achieve the sowing target.

He disclosed that services of over 1,100 employees working on different projects of water management would be regularised soon.

He added that motorcycles had been provided to field staff of water management, agriculture extension and pest warning wings to enable them provide technical guidance to farmers at their door step.

He ordered agriculture engineering officials to achieve the target of bringing new land under cultivation. He said support price of oil seed crops would be announced in September this year to promote their cultivation.

Director Agriculture extension Shafqat Hussain Bhatti, Director Water Management Malik Saif Ur Rahman, Director In- service Training Institute Muhammad Zakariya, Director Farm and Training Yousuf Hassan Bhutta, Deputy Director Pest Warning Chaudhry Muhammad Irshad, Assistant Director Agriculture Information Naveed Asmat Kahlon, besides other officials attended the meeting.
