Pervaiz Rasheed To Be Re-appointed Information Minister: Sources

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st May, 2018) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Pervaiz Rasheed is expected to be appointed as minister again.
According to media reports, some sources have revealed that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has decided to appoint former Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed as federal minister again upon special directions from PMLN supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
The decision is being made to restore all those people punished for Dawn Leaks to their positions and give a message to the establishment that ‘we are not afraid of you’.
Earlier, the government had restored Principal Information Officer Rao Tehseen Ali Khan and appointed him as Radio director general.
However, the decision was not implemented. Now the government has decided to again appoint Pervaiz Rasheed as federal minister and according to sources, he will be given Information Ministry.
Sources said that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are angry at Federal Information Minister Marriyam Aurangzeb. Two days ago, the information minister in her comment over Nawaz Sharif’s recent statements regarding Mumbai attacks had said that the said interview is a personal opinion of Nawaz Sharif and has nothing to do with PMLN’s policy.
Pervaiz Rasheed was held responsible and removed from the Information Ministry in 2016 over Dawn Leaks issue, reporting about civil-military relations in the country.
