Peshawar's Glory As City Of Gardens To Be Revived: Shahram Khan Tarakai

The city of Peshawar to be made clean and green and its lost glory as the city of gardens will be revived at cost, said provincial Minister for Local Government, Shahram Khan Tarakai while presiding over a PDA meeting regarding Clean and Green Peshawar drive.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Nov, 2018 ) :The city of Peshawar to be made clean and green and its lost glory as the city of gardens will be revived at cost, said provincial Minister for Local Government, Shahram Khan Tarakai while presiding over a PDA meeting regarding Clean and Green Peshawar drive.

On the occasion that was attended by Secretary Local Government, Zahir Shah, DG PDA and administrative officers from PDA, the Minister was briefed in detail about renovation of crossings, ongoing cleanliness drive, plantation along sides of roads and repair of roads in suburban areas.

The minister was told that besides plantation on greenbelts repair of street lights and up gradation of sewerage system was also in progress in the city and suburb areas.

Tarakai on this occasion while lauding the performance of PDA said departments concerned should make the city of Peshawar as a model for other cities in all sectors considering it as their own house.

He also directed for removing all kinds of encroachments and wall-chalking from both sides of the roads.

The Minister also assured every assistance to PDA on his behalf and directed the PDA staff to follow the dress code and display the monogram on all properties and buildings of the department.

He also directed for calling a progress review meeting after every two weeks on ongoing projects and devising a comprehensive check and balance mechanism in the department.

Earlier, a meeting was held to review and address problems of Town-3 and University Town that was attended by chief officers, TMOs and legal advisors.
