Petroleum Prices Expected To Hike By Rs 10 Per Litre

The new prices will be implemented after approval from the Petroleum Ministry.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 22nd September, 2018) The prices of petroleum products are expected to be increased from October 1.
According to media reports, sources in Petroleum Ministry said that the petroleum prices are expected to hike by Rs 10 per litre from next month.
The petrol prices are expected to increase by Rs 6.30 per litre while Kerosene oil prices can be increased by Rs 10 per litre, Light Diesel by Rs 4 per litre and High Speed Diesel by Rs 8.50 per litre.
The new prices will be implemented after approval from the Petroleum Ministry. A final decision is however not yet made in this regard.
Finance Minister Asad Umar while presenting amendments for fiscal budget had predicted an increase in the prices of petroleum products by Rs 20.
He had warned that people might have to face inflation due to the fall in forex reserves, adding that petrol prices can increase by Rs 20 per liter if Pakistani rupee continues to devalue.
In August, the government had decided to revise down the price of High Speed Diesel by Rs 6.37 per litre and that of petrol by Rs 2.41 per litre.
The new prices were implemented from September 01, 2018.
The price of HSD was reduced from Rs 112.94 to Rs 106.57 per litre while that of petrol (MS 92 RON) was declined from Rs 95.24 to Rs 92.83 per litre.
Similarly the price of Super Kerosene Oil was cut by Rs 0.46 per litre and the new price was Rs 83.5 per litre.
