PFA Seizes 24 Trucks Of Substandard Food Material

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jan, 2019 ) ::The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Tuesday sealed three factories and seized 24 mini-truck loaded with substandard raw material of slanty etc. worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
The raw material included 689 bags of slanty, 153 bags of spices, 4 bags of nimko, 74 bags of red chilli powder and turmeric powder and other items.
All the seized material was discarded near Makkoana Bypass at dumping site.
Provincial Minister for Food Samiullah Chaudhry, Director General Punjab Food Authority Captain (Retired) Muhammad Usman Younus and other officers were present on the occasion.
Provincial Minister for Food Samiullah Chaudhry while talking to newsmen on the occasion said that no one would be allowed to play havoc with the human lives.
He lauded the performance of Punjab Food Authority and said that the authority would take action without discrimination against all those found violating the food laws.
He said that Punjab Food Authority standard was not less than the standard in European countries from any sort and added that action against adulterators would continue till the hospital may empty from patients admitted due to intake of impure food.
DG PFA Captain (Retired) Muhammad Usman Younus said that three factories involved in manufacturing adulterated food items had been sealed and cases against their owners had been got registered.
He said that samples of ghee, milk, cooking oil, water and other edibles were being collected for laboratory analysis.
He said that bottle industry had been given a time of 6 months to control reuse of plastic bottles.
He said that steps were being taken to control supply of substandard food items in cities, villages, schools, etc.
