PFC Delegation Left For Birmingham To Participate In Furniture Exhibition

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Oct, 2016 ) : A delegation of Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) here on Monday left for Birmingham UK for participating in the International Furniture Exhibition.
The event starting from October 2-5 showcase products like machinery services, dust extraction products, tools and machinery and help in exploring the avenues of export of Pakistani furniture. PFC Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq in a statement said that PFC in principle has decided to participate in all international furniture exhibitions across the world to explore the foreign markets for the exports of made in Pakistan furniture.
He said during the visit, the new trends and requirements of the interested clients will also be studied, adding that there was a great demand of Pakistani furniture products abroad as its designs are unique besides popularity of properly processed high quality wood for its durability.
He said USA, UK, Gulf Countries and Sri Lanka were some of the prime countries that import Pakistani furniture.
Pakistan usually exports kitchen and office furniture to the Gulf Countries and to the UK, while bedroom furniture is exported to the USA.
"PFC is focusing on marketing activities in key markets including United States, Japan, European Union and the Gulf. A concerted action is being taken for holding exhibitions, websites, international trade fairs and in-depth market analyses," he added.
He said the establishment of joint ventures with foreign producers of woods for the provision of required machinery can bolster the quality of our furniture products and brings them at par with international standards.
He said that all major exhibitors of furniture industry currently participating and attending the exhibition will also be invited to participate in 3-day 6th International Interior Pakistan exhibition being held at Lahore from November 25.
