RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2019 ) :The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi has accelerated arrangements to organize week-long spring festival 'Jashn-e-Rawalpindi' to provide recreation to the residents of the twin cities.
Talking to APP, Chairman PHA, Asif Mehmood informed that the Authority was making all out efforts to organize a beautiful festival and ensure maximum participation of families besides male and female students in the festival.
He said, the college and university students would also be allotted stalls. The Chairman said, the opening ceremony of the spring festival would be held at Shamsabad Park on April 21.
The PHA would arrange a beautiful festival and different parks and roads including Metro track would be beautifully decorated for 'Jashn-e-Rawalpindi', he added.
To a question he informed that Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar would visit the festival at the opening or concluding ceremony.
The Swings, food stalls, cut flower, magic and bird shows, book exhibition, face-painting, shopping area would be arranged in Shamsabad Park and other recreational facilities would also be provided to the citizens.
"The basic aim of the festival will be to provide an opportunity to the citizens to have fun during this spring season," said the Chairman.
He said the PHA would also make efforts during the festival to sensitize the people to come forward and actively participate in the clean and green program of the government.
The event will be something beyond recreation to provide a unique platform to the citizens particularly the families for having health, education, entertainment and other amusement facilities without any charge.
He said that the authority was trying to promote a healthy environment, adding PHA was making all out efforts to make the city green and attractive by maintaining greenbelts, various roads and public parks.
The lighting, beautification and various decorated stalls would turn the park into a beautiful spot, he added.
