
PINS Granted Permission For FCPS Spine Surgery Training

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2025) The Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS), Lahore, has been officially granted permission to offer FCPS training in spine surgery.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, Executive Director of PINS, Professor Dr. Asif Bashir,said that the formal approval by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) for FCPS Spine Surgery training at PINS marks a significant milestone in the field of medical education and research in the country. He said this development will open new opportunities for young neurosurgeons.
Paying tribute to the healthcare professionals of the institution, Dr. Asif Bashir said that this approval is an honor for PINS and the credit goes to the entire team who worked tirelessly to achieve this goal.
He further stated that this approval will not only enable the provision of state-of-the-art medical facilities to patients but also offer world-class training to young neurosurgeons, equipping them to represent Pakistan on a global level in the field of spine surgery.
Dr. Bashir added that PINS is the only public sector institution where spine surgery is performed within 24 hours, ensuring timely treatment and faster recovery for patients. All available resources are being utilized to make PINS a globally recognized institution, and this approval is a major step in that direction.
