Plan For Transmission Of Power Supply In AJK By End Of Fiscal Year 2016-17

MIRPUR (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Jan, 2017 ) ,: Development work is in progress by the authorities concerned in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) under the integrated phased plan to ensure the uninterrupted power supply to the consumers besides for the electrification of rest parts of the AJK by the end of the ongoing fiscal year of 2016-17.
The State Electricity Department sources told APP here Monday that since the AJK government was determined to ensure the smooth supply of power to the consumers across AJK, the priorities have been fixed to achieve the target by the end of the current fiscal year (2016-17) budget for the achievement of the stipulated speedy progress of power sector in AJK including all three districts of Mirpur division.
The sources said special attention was proposed to be given to ensure the smooth and stable supply of electricity to the consumers across AJK without any discrimination.
They said that for this purpose additional transformers would be provided to the electricity department for installation at the recommended sites in the area besides replacing the out-dated transmission lines both in rural and urban areas with new power supply lines.
Referring to the completion of the "Mangla Dam Raising Project" the sources said that the gigantic project will, indeed, usher in the new era of speedy progress and prosperity through bringing about green revolution in the country.
The sources pointed out that the AJK government has already chalked out a broad-based plan to electrify all the remaining portion of AJK including remote and far flung areas by the end of the next year.
