Planning Ministry Organizes Seminar On Social Entrepreneurship

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Oct, 2018 ) :Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform's Centre for Social Entrepreneurship organized on Monday a day-long seminar here to highlight the importance of social entrepreneurship in the country which not only provides opportunity to the enterprises to earn money but it also helps the poor and needy in various ways.
The ministry organized the seminar titled "Social Entrepreneurship: Policy, Innovation, and Future", in collaboration with the British Council and Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI).
During the seminar the speakers stressed the need for promoting social entrepreneurship in the country by encouraging specially the youth to bring in innovative ideas for the socio economic development of the country.
They said the social entrepreneurs should passionately focus only on serving the people by keeping aside their monetary aspects.
"It is power of passion among the social entrepreneurs which is driving them to serve the people," they said adding that if they really focus of service of the people, they would get their monetary benefits automatically, but they should give priority to their social service over their monetary benefits," they added.
The speakers said that the mission of the centre for Social Entrepreneurship was to educate youth to use business tools, entrepreneurial and management skills to address social and environment challenges.
This centre, they said is aimed at reducing poverty and social issues through innovative business ideas and small start-ups.
Innovative business ideas can promote development ofinnovative products and services to serve disadvantage communities andvulnerable segments.
