Players Start Pouring In For 3rd Thal Jeep Rally

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2018 ) ::Adventure hungry drivers and navigators started arriving in Multan on Wednesday to participate in Thal jeep rally, a 180-kilometre long race that would begin from Muzaffargarh and conclude at the same point after passing through parts of Layyah district, officials said.
The third edition of the three-day Thal jeep rally slated for Nov 16 would also include a few women car racers.
Tents have been installed at Changa Manga, the opening and concluding point of the race in Muzaffargarh district near Multan, while entrance and exit gates have also been installed on the race route.
General Manager Operations Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) Asjad Ghani reached Multan on Wednesday while MD TDCP Ahmer Malik would arrive on Nov 15, Thursday.
The GM Operations TDCP met officials and finalized arrangements including the establishment of a control room.
A ceremony to confer life time achievement awards and shields on participants of Gwadar and Cholistan jeep rally from noted tourist and biker Iqbal Ghangla would also be held on Thursday.
Those who would receive awards included noted car racers Nadir Magsi, Roni Patel, Ans Khakwani, Faisal Shadi Khel, Roshna Patel, Qadir Nawaz Sangi and others.
Formal proceedings of the event would begin on Nov 16 at Multan Circuit House where drivers and navigators would hold conference i.e discussions on how to negotiate with the race track. Later, they all would join the qualifying round the same day to finalize the order in which they would join the race.
On Nov 17, women car racers and stock car racers would test their skills on the track. The race of prepaid vehicles would be held on Nov 18 and a prize distribution ceremony would be held the same evening at Faisal Stadium in Muzaffargarh.
