PM firm in his resolve to eliminate corruption: Fawad

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Nov, 2018 ) :Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Monday said Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted to eliminate the menace of corruption from the country and he stood firm on his resolve in that regard.

Imran Khan was the only leader in the country's history, who was talking about corruption, shelter houses and water issue, he said while talking to a private news channel.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief was determined to provide shelter to the down-trodden people and at the same time wanted to seek resolution of the looming water crisis, he added.

The minister said Imran Khan as prime minister was giving policy guidelines while it was the chief ministers' responsibility to implement them for the betterment of the people.

It was difficult for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz ministers, what to think of common people, to have access to former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif, but now time had changed that all and sundry could meet the PTI's chief minister, he added.

To a question, Fawad said there was no media censorship in the country. The present government had even lifted the censorship on the ptv, he added.

To another question, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan would present his major policy initiatives taken in his 100-day plan before the public on November 29.

As regards the establishment of South Punjab province, he said the people would soon see major developments as the PTI government was taking steps for the purpose.

Replying to a question, the minister said local government elections would be held in next few months because decentralization of power was the key point of the PTI's manifesto.

To another query, he said Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) would be would be celebrated at official level with religious fevour. Religious scholars from the Islamic countries would participate in the "Rehmat ul Alamin" conference, he added.

He said violence had no place in Islamic teachings. "We want to change the narrative," he added.
