PM Imran acknowledges martyred Naeem Rashid’s wife for her courage

Rashid, who was injured in his bid to overpower the attacker, passed away on Saturday after succumbing to his injuries.

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th March, 2019) Prime Minister Imran Khan has acknowledged the courage of Naeem Rashid’s wife, who lost her husband to the terrorist shooting in New Zealand last Friday.

Rashid, who was injured in his bid to overpower the attacker, passed away on Saturday after succumbing to his injuries. His son, 22-year-old Talha Naeem, a civil engineering graduate, was among those who lost their lives in the shooting.

The grief of their family is indeed great.

Sharing a video of Naeem Rashid’s widow, the prime minister acknowledged her courage and said her words should make everyone understand the power of faith in Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

“For all those within & outside the Muslim world these words of Shaheed Naeem Rashid's wife should make everyone understand the power of faith in Allah & Prophet Muhammed PBUH,” he wrote.

In another tweet, PM Imran said that the faith in Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) transforms humans into strong and loving beings who feel pity for the terrorist who killed their loved ones.

“How this faith in Allah and his Prophet PBUH transforms humans into strong & loving beings who can even feel pity for a terrorist, a mass murderer, who took away their loved ones,” he added.

Naeem Rashid, a Pakistani who courageously resisted terrorist Brenton Tarrant while opening fire indiscriminately at worshippers in New Zealand's mosque during Friday prayers, is being hailed as a hero in Pakistan and abroad.

As the world mourns the loss of 50 people killed in the attack, this Pakistani hero is being praised globally for his heroic act. The international media also declared him a hero for his courageous act that saved many lives.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to give a national award to martyred Naeem Rashid to recognise his courage.

New Zealand was struck by two deadly attacks in Christchurch on Friday, with 50 people killed and another 20 seriously injured after gun assaults on mosques as Muslims worshipped.

A total of nine Pakistanis were martyred in the attack.
