PM Imran Meets TV Anchors, Requests Not To Criticize Till 3 Months

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 31st August, 2018) Prime Minister Imran Khan called on tv anchors in the PM Secretariat on Friday.
Hamid Mir who was present in the meeting said that PM Imran requested the journalists to give three months to his government and then criticize him.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry was also present in the meeting.
PM Imran said that when accountability will begin, people will say that democracy is in danger.
Moreover, the prime minister openly supported the appointment of Usman Buzdar as Punjab Chief Minister.
About the impression that Punjab CM is temporary, Hamid Mir said that Imran Khan defended him very effectively. Imran Khan said those who are criticizing him today will be appreciating him after three months.
PM Imraan further said that the austerity campaign will continue. He said that he will turn the PM House into a higher education research university.
Hamid Mir said that they were served with tea, pastry and two biscuits in the meeting contrary to the meetings with former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi which were quite lavish.
The PM secretariat staff was also quite casual and were wearing Shalwar Kameez, Mir added.
About the transfer of Pakpattan DPO Khawar Maneka, PM Imran said that the media has been criticizing us without taking our point of view. The prime minister said that the police officers pointed gun towards Khawar Maneka and his family.
PM Imran was satisfied with the Supreme Court’s notice of the incident, saying that the SC will take our point of view, Hamid Mir said.
The prime minister reassured that we will implement all our policies.
Hamid Mir said that Imran Khan remained calm over tough questions. I take the media criticism positively, the prime minister said, adding give us three months. After that, criticize us all.
The prime minister turned down French president's call twice during the meeting. Foreign Minister Qureshi eventually convinced him to take the call.
Furthermore, the journalists also advised the prime minister to address the UN session in urdu.
