PMA Appreciates Healthcare, Health Insurance Steps

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2018 ) :Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has appreciated the announcing of health card and health insurance schemes in the budget for the year 2018-19, announced by the Punjab government here Tuesday.

Talking to APP, the PMA General Secretary Dr. Kamran termed the government steps of launching of health card for the needy persons and expansion of health insurance scheme to other districts of Punjab a good step for the easy excess of the indigent people to health facilities.

He urged the government to announce a proper health policy and fix five percent of the GDP in its annual budget as per the standard set by WHO so that the health institutions in the country could develop to provide better healthcare to common man.

He also appealed the government to prioritize Primary healthcare and patients referral system so that treatment of patients could be ensured at its early stage.

The PMA leader laid emphasized on implementation of health sector schemes in letter and spirit to yield up to the mark results.
