PML-N’s Sajjad Khan Rejects NA-60 By-election Results

The PML-N candidate alleged of election rigging, adding that the results in his constituency were changed.

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th October, 2018) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sajjad Khan has rejected the by-election result of NA-60, Rawalpindi.

Sajjad Khan said that he is consulting with his lawyers after which he will file a petition for votes recount.

The PML-N candidate alleged of election rigging, adding that the results in his constituency were changed.

Sajjad Khan further said that Sheikh Rasheed carried out the election campaign for his nephew and winning candidate Sheikh Rashid Shafique despite being a Federal minister.

He said that he will announce the future course of action in a press conference.

On the other hand, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif also declared NA-60 as his party’s seat.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) candidate Shaikh Rashid Shafique has won the National Assembly Constituency NA-60 Rawalpindi-VII by-election by securing 44,483 votes while Sajjad Khan of PML-N finished second by obtaining 43,836 votes.
