PMLN Feared To Reach Its Conclusion Amid Party Differences

Journalist says the split within the party is widening in this evolving situation

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th May, 2018) Veteran journalist and analysts Mazhar Abbas while talking on a tv program has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PMLN) government will end on May 31.

Considering the present situation, it is feared that the party will also be over, he said.

He said that the split within the party is widening in this evolving situation. Now it is feared that the differences do no increase to the extent that party reaches its conclusion.

Abbas said that he spoke to a close aide of Shehbaz Sharif a couple of weeks ago, who was speaking just like an opposition leader. “He had his apprehensions as to where the party is standing now and where should these people go.

Why is Shehbaz not being given space in the party?” he recalled Shehbaz’s friend as saying.

The journalist said that it seemed like a discussion between MQM-Bahdurabad and PIB.

Abbas said that notwithstanding Nawaz Sharif’s narrative, his new statement has overcome his narrative. He said that if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) manages to form government after the next elections, then they should give an award to Cyril Almeida.

Nawaz’s recent statement over Mumbai attacks has led to a split within the party. There is a group of leaders who does not want to stay in the party anymore. This is why PMLN is in hot waters and will possibly have to bear a loss in the upcoming elections.
