The parliamentary group of PML(N) in KMC Council has announced full cooperation with the ruling party in and outside of the council
KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 14th March, 2019) The parliamentary group of PML(N) in KMC Council has announced full cooperation with the ruling party in and outside of the council.The PML(N) parliamentary leader in the city council Nadeem Arain led a delegation in a meeting with the Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar to discuss on the city problems and powers of elected representatives in local bodies.MQM parliamentary leader Aslam Shah Afirdi and chairmen of different committees of council were also present on this occasion.The chief of the PML(N) delegation said that the irrespective of party or group affiliation the city mayor should be powerful and strong and the civic services providers should be under the mayor.
City problems cannot be solved without making the city bodies answerable to the local bodies representatives.
Development works through MNAs created more problems and the system has been made worse instead of bringing improvement in it.They said that the ruling party of KMC council would have full support of our 31 members and we want to solve the problems of citizens.Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said that the complaints of union council chairmen regarding municipal facilities were realistic as urban areas have lot of problems for which the elected representatives at basic level should be given the financial and administrative powers but, in our country, they did not work for the strengthening of democratic system.He said that the development works put up by the UC chairmen will be given priority and there will be no discrimination in KMC at any level.
