Police have started vigorous campaign to educate people to avoid aerial firing on eve of Eidul fitr as it poses danger to others life.
KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2018 ) :Police have started vigorous campaign to educate people to avoid aerial firing on eve of Eidul fitr as it poses danger to others life.
This time Kohat Police is utilizing all available means and channels to educate people about dangerous repercussions of aerial firing in jubilation to mark the arrival of eid celebration.
Special Committee have been constituted on the direction of District Police Officer Abass Majeed Khan Marwat to hold meeting with all segments of the society to achieve the desired result of discouraging aerial firing tradition in the city.
Many people particularly children have lost lives and injured seriously in the past after becoming victim of stray bullet.
Police have displayed banners in various localities of the city inscribed with translation of Quran verse "Saving one life as if saving the whole humanity" for the pursuance and better understanding of people to avoid firing.
Besides, public service messages are being circulated on social media to reach out young people to get their support in stopping celebratory firing and minimizing threat to human lives.
Police have also sought support of local government representatives, Ulema, local journalists and notables of areas to spread this public service message among their respective localities.
Police said that violates of the aerial firing would be dealt with law. Aerial firing is prohibited under Section 144 of the CrPC. People violating the Section 144 aredealt with under Section 188 of the PPC which suggests an imprisonment term ofsix months or a fine which may extended to Rs1,000.
