
Polish Delegation Calls On Defence Production Minister

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th August, 2016) : A polish delegation led by Deputy Minister of National Defence Bartosz Kownaeki Tuesday called on Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain in Rawalpindi. During the meeting, matters pertaining to bilateral interests and promotion of cooperation in the field of defence production came under discussion, said a press release. Both the sides underlined the need for further developing military to military cooperation at all level. The Federal minister apprised the delegation about Pakistan's expertise and potential in the field of defence production.
He identified the areas of cooperation in which the two countries could further strengthen the bilateral ties, saying that Pakistan had an advanced defence industry, equipped with highly skilled engineers and technicians. In past, both the sides admitted that there had been limited cooperation between the two countries in the field of defence production.
Besides, they expressed keen interest to sign memorandums of understanding and agreements to in the defence production sector. Polish Deputy Minister for National Defence said Poland was a full member of NATO since 1999, and an important European country with strong industrial base.
"The government of Poland has been pursuing ambitious program of restructuring the defence capacity of Poland, having experience of working with the technologically advanced countries of the world, and as a result our industry is doing great advancements in this Industry," he said. Rana Tanveer Hussain invited the Polish minister to attend the upcoming Defence exhibition (IDEAS - 2016) to be held in Pakistan in November this year.
